A website promoting “An Evening of Solidarity with Bolivarian Venezuela” in New York– that is, an evening of unqualified praise for Hugo Chavez and unending denunciations of “US interference”– includes a page with a photo of Venezuelan flags waving amid a crowd of people.
The implication, of course, was that this represented yet another display of popular affection for the Chavez regime.
But as the Venezuelan blogger Daniel Duquenal points out, the photo was taken at an anti-Chavez demonstration. And he should know, because he was the one who took it. The photo appears at the upper right of Daniel’s blog.
Anyway, we’ll see how long it takes for a pro-Chavez reader to notify the event’s organizers of the faux pas, so they can remove the offending photo.
