Sun snags exclusive Dubya interview

President Bush– not one to let dignity get in the way of a large and relatively friendly audience– has given an exclusive interview to The Sun on the occasion of his visit to Britain.

“You should’ve seen the ones we declined,” said White House press secretary Scott McClellan, probably referring to The (shudder) Guardian.

The White House said the interview will appear Monday– on the eve of Bush’s arrival in London– and far away from Page 3. The interview was conducted in Washington by the Sun’s political editor, Trevor Kavanagh, who on Monday penned an article titled “Bush Shows Tax Cuts Can Boost Economy.”

I’ll have to look that one up and give it the careful scrutiny it deserves.

Now The Daily Mirror is all in a snit. Their headline yesterday was “BUSH OFF” and they featured a poll revealing that “Britain thinks President is threat to world peace and not welcome here.”
