For the few of you who care about these things – George Galloway’s hopes of getting the Morning Star behind his RESPECT Unity Coalition have been ended after the paper’s effective owners The Communist Party of Britain voted against participaton in Galloway’s electoral adventure:
In particular, we reject participation in the Respect Coalition proposed by George Galloway and others. It is a narrowly-based front for the SWP which has emerged from the remnants of the failed Socialist Alliance, and is likely to divide not only the labour movement but the anti-war movement as well.
Things are certainly looking grim for Galloway if he can’t even get supporters of the Stop the War Coalition to sign up to his new party.
