Media,  Obama

What’s the connection?

Can anyone help me out here?

What does the headline The president-elect is not a dove – he is just a much smarter hawk have to do with this seemingly unrelated and unfunny Steve Bell cartoon?

OK, Obama is saying “carmarkers” instead of “peacemakers.” Is that it?

Update: Ann On writes:

The answer is that there is no relation between the headline and the cartoon. In the print edition of the Guardian, the headline does not appear anywhere near the cartoon. I think the Guardian have just made a minor mistake on their website which brought the headline and article together, which has sent you into some kind of bizarre hunt for secret meanings

The headline “The President-elect is not a dove – he is just a much smarter hawk” belongs to this article by Jonathan Freedland.
