The Left

A Vicar writes

Giles Frasier, the Vicar of Putney, wryly laments:

“The tragedy is that Rushdie the novelist has increasingly been overtaken by his public crusading. “

Yes, I can’t imagine why that might have occurred.

Can anybody think of something which might have happened to Mr Rushdie which has concentrated his attention so?
