Index on Censorship, whose Associate Editor Rohan Jayasekera suggested that the late Theo Van Gogh was a censor who “roared his Muslim critics into silence with obscenities” and who stage managed his own assassination as a “marvellous piece of theatre”, seems to be engaged in a little bit of back pedalling.
Frank Jordans reports that one of the films nominated in the Film & Documentary category of their ‘Freedom of Expression Awards’ is ‘Submission’, and that the original Jayasekera article seems to have disappeared from the IndexOnline website.
