More on Hitchens etc

I’m on the road for a few days so will be keeping things brief. Just a couple of links relating to the post on Christopher Hitchens which has prompted an interesting comments discussion below.

Oliver Kamm says that Hitchens’ backing for Bush is based on the view that the threat posed to liberty by its terrorist enemies is the single biggest issue in the world today. Obviously I agree. As often, Oliver raises some other uncomfortable questions – well worth a read.

In Slate, Hitchens has a pop at Democratic presidential hopeful John Kerry. In fact, this being Hitchens he has more than a pop – he rips him to shreds.

We have learned that Sen. Kerry considers himself to be gullible both ways, which ought to mean that he is ineligible for the nomination, let alone the presidency.
