The PSC on a ‘Respected Academic’

This is a guest post by Suleiman Sharkh, the Chair of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign in Southampton, in response to this post

I am writing as the Chair of the PSC in Southampton. At the PSC we aim to present a spectrum of opinions at our meetings and events as a basis for informed discussions. The speakers do not represent the PSC, and speak in their personal capacity. We will also have speakers during the day for Al-Quds who do not agree with Tamimi’s Views.

Dr Tamimi is a respected academic and the author of an important book on Hamas, which is one of the main political parties in Palestine that cannot be ignored. And any serious effort to resolve the Palestinian problem must take into account the opinions of all the players.

We welcome informed and constructive comments. But the attempt by this website to smear the PSC and Dr Tamimi, by presenting material out of context, is rather “low”, to use your own word.
