The Mayor, Sadiq Khan said:
“I hope reports that the 10pm curfew will be scrapped are true. I was calling for this weeks ago – the curfew didn’t prevent people mixing and hurt businesses. Venues will need all the support they can get after lockdown.”
His ‘Night Czar’ Ami Lame said:
“Wow. @SadiqKhan and I have been lobbying hard for months to get the 10pm curfew cancelled – please tell me this is true @10DowningStreet”
“The @MayorofLondon and I are absolutely clear: the Government should #CancelTheCurfew to help save London’s hospitality businesses”
But since Mr Khan was saying that the government must impost a curfew only 8 weeks ago, how can this be true?
Covid-19 is taking enough of a toll on the nation’s mental health without politicians trying to make political capital out of it gaslighting the public.
