This video reportedly shows forces of the Free Syrian Army– comprising defectors from the regular Syrian army– scoring a hit on a tank in Homs. The sound track suggests a full-scale battle.
On the one hand, who can blame them for taking the fight directly to the army after months of brutal and murderous repression of peaceful demonstrations? Clearly the responsibility for this is on Bashar al-Assad.
On the other hand, the more violent the uprising becomes, and the more violent the regime’s response, the more reason there is to be concerned about whatever comes after the blessed end of the Assad regime.
