I’ve refrained from posting about Hugo Chavez’s surgery and three-week hospital stay in Cuba, in the belief that nobody besides Chavez, his doctors and maybe a few others knows what his medical condition really is.
(The only thing I will speculate on with confidence is that Chavez is being treated at one of Cuba’s model hospitals to which foreigners and Cuban big shots are admitted, and not at the hospital where Cuban blogger Yoani Sanchez visited a friend’s mother.)
For all I know, Chavez is in better health than ever, and will soon return to Venezuela full of renewed and boundless energy.
But is this cheesy video broadcast by Venezuelan state TV trying a little too hard to convince us?
