History

From the Vaults: Los Angeles Times, December 4, 1967

At the same time as denouncing “Amerikkka” for their actions in Vietnam, many in the Vietnam antiwar movement were cheering on Ho Chi Minh and the Viet Cong. This is but another example of those on the far-left championing brutal murderers. Below I copy an extract from a letter published in the Los Angeles Times in the middle of all this:

Put Viet Reds on Trial

David Boelender

Los Angeles Times, December 4, 1967

…. The Vietnamese Communists have conspired to commit aggression against South Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand. According to the Nuremberg Charter this is a crime against peace.

North Vietnamese troops have violated the borders of South Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. According to the Nuremberg Charter this is a crime against peace.

Since 1945 and continuing today the Vietnamese Communists have murdered thousands of non-Communist and anti-Communist Vietnamese leaders as a matter of deliberate and systematic policy. According to the Nuremberg Charter this is a crime against humanity.

The Vietnamese Communists have sent agents into Laos, Cambodia and Thailand to subvert the people and to kill those opposed to the plans of North Vietnam and Communist China for these nations. According to the Nuremberg Charter this is both a crime against peace and a crime against humanity.

According to Hoang Van Chi, between 1953 and 1956 the Vietnamese Communists murdered as many as 500,000 North Vietnamese citizens under the pretext of land reform. This is genocide and according to the Nuremberg Charter a crime against humanity.
