The Christisons and the Lib Dems

Last month we reported on the Christisons, a pair of Israel haters and 9/11 troofers, appearing at an Amnesty International UK event.

Here is another look at Bill Christison’s world view. Readers of this blog will be familiar with Paul Craig Roberts, the “beans, bullets, bandages and Bibles” right wing American freak. Here is Mr Roberts going on and on about Israel controlling American foreign policy, the media and the US Congress on Iran’s Press TV. Also on the show is Bill Christison. When Roberts’s rant ends, Christison chimes in with this:

I want to say to you that I agree 100% with practically every statement that Paul Craig Roberts has just made. He is one of the finest analysts I know in dealing with the entire situation in the Middle East.

Tomorrow the Christisons will do a repeat performance of the Amnesty UK event in London. The sponsors of this event are the Cordoba Foundation and Middle East Monitor.

Cordoba is of course a vehicle for British Islamist Anas al Tikriti. Cordoba also sponsored the Cage Prisoners Ramadan fundraiser event this August, where al Qaeda preacher Anwar al Awlaki was to be the star turn, via a video link from Yemen, until the local council stepped in and banned him. Cordoba still has the flyer (pdf) for that event, including Awlaki’s name, on its website.

Middle East Monitor’s director is Daud Abdullah, the deputy secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain and a signatory of the pro-Hamas Istanbul declaration (pdf), the fruit of an assembly of Sunni extremists in Turkey in February 2009.

The chair of the Christisons’ event will be John McHugo, the chairman of Liberal Democrat Friends of Palestine.

Its website offers this fine example of offensive stupidity:

In a religious context, the term Semitic can refer to the religions associated with the speakers of these languages: thus Judaism, Christianity and Islam are often described as “Semitic religions”.

So to accuse someone of being anti-Semitic would mean they express hostility towards both Arabs, Jews, both speaking Semitic languages.

The links section is fun. It includes “If Americans Knew”, where among other illuminations cranks can explore the story of the USS Liberty, one of their favourite themes; the Palestinian Information Centre, a voice of Hamas; and informationclearinghouse.com, an odd site where extremists and nutters can get important news such as this revelation that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is not a Holocaust denier.

Ahem.

Mr McHugo should not have accepted the invitation to this event. It is not too late for him to withdraw.
