Stoppers snubbed

Final word on Saturday’s ‘anti-war’ protests. I’ve been puzzled by this passage from the PA report:

Speaking to the crowds through a megaphone Andrew Murray, chairman of the Stop the War Coalition, said: “We have tried to deliver a letter to the American Embassy. We have not been able to do that.

Snubbed by the embassy who feared the message would lead to a rebellion among their staff? Or perhaps a more innocent explanation could have been found by looking at the US Embassy website:

All offices are closed on Saturday, Sunday, and American and British Holidays Embassy operating hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Ok, lets be fair. I know that at times Andrew Murray has been a bit miffed by some of the material on this site so it’s time to smooth things over with a bit of comradely assistance.
