For all the right-wing sneering at its residents as latte-drinking, Volvo-driving, socialist-electing blue-staters, it’s interesting to learn that Vermont has had the second-highest National Guard mobilization rate of any state in the country, and has lost more soldiers in Iraq as a percentage of its population than any other state.
