Iraqi “Resistance”

The Guardian is running a story from a reporter who has managed to speak to, what both the paper and the reporter describe as “The (Iraqi) Resistance”

The reporter confirms that those people now exploding car bombs in Baghdad and other parts of Iraq are a mixture of Saddam loyalists, Islamic Jihadis and those who describe themselves as nationalists. What was new to me is that they all seem to be taking orders from a single command structure apparantly composed of religious leaders. There have also been meetings between the “resistance” and their brothers in arms in Palestine. According to the reporter they sought to learn from the experience of Hamas

If they learn anything from these great friends of the Palestinian people it’s likely to be how to bring endless misery to their country.

These are also the exact same people speakers at the recent Stop the War march asked us to urge victory to.
