A couple of years ago Danish film director Lars Von Trier told a press conference “I understand Hitler” and “I am a Nazi” and “Israel is a pain in the ass” before apologizing– or more precisely, having an apology issued in his name.
It seems that Von Trier’s latest film “Nymphomaniac” (about a nymphomaniac) includes a scene in which a Jewish character, at what I assume is a non-erotic moment, advocates anti-Zionism while differentiating it from antisemitism.
How that fits into the larger context of the film I will not begin to speculate.
