Viva Palestina, George Galloway’s Hamas support operation, is on the road again.
Here’s a picture from Istanbul. Who’s the host? The Turkish Islamist charity IHH, of course. The man at the podium is Bülent Yildirim, the president of IHH.
IHH serves Hamas with dedication. The terrorist group is a perfect ideological fit with the charity. Consider these recent words from Yildirim:
IHH President Bülent Yıldırım made a speech after recitations from the Koran at the graves of Cevdet Kılıçlar and Necdet Yıldırım. He said: “We cannot say these brothers are not among us now. Because martyrs do not die, they are alive. Our sadness as well as happiness is huge. Muslims never desire the world. They know this life is fleeting. To a Muslim martyrdom is indescribable taste. We wish to die as martyrs.
Who else was in Istanbul? Oh look, some familiar characters to Galloway’s left.
The first man is convoy spokesman and Hamasnik Zaher Birawi. Here is a picture of him with Galloway and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh on an earlier convoy.
The second man is Muhammad Sawalha, a fugitive Hamas commander.
Both have found refuge in Britain, which is a great base for political operations and fundraising for Hamas.
The convoy plans to travel through Egypt. Galloway is not welcome there.
Earlier in the week, the spokesman of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Hossam Zaki noted that Galloway is a “Persona Non-Grata” and that he is prohibited from entering the country and that the Egyptian Embassies in the countries that have participants in his convoy were “informed that the convoy has to abide by Egypt`s regulation of convoys.”
He intends to go anyway.
Muhammad Sawalha, head of the European Committee against the Embargo, said “What we request from Egypt is that it allows all activists, including George Galloway.”
So we may be in for another stupid and needless conflict, just as we saw with the Viva Palestina-IHH violent idiocy in El Arish last winter.
Do you want to back a bunch of racist thugs and terrorists? Donate here via the “ethical” Co-operative Bank.
Gene adds: Why would the Egyptian government want to keep out Galloway? I can’t imagine…
There are many governments responsible for this great crime in Palestine, but the dictatorship of Hosni Mubarak is jointly responsible for the murder of every Palestinian who’s died these last two years.
When he was embracing Livni as the bombs were falling, when he locked the border of Rafah, he became an international criminal and an outlaw of the Arab world.
So I call, in conclusion, on the great people of Egypt, on the heroic armed forces of Egypt, on the heroic army of Egypt of 1973, to rise up and sweep away this tyrant Mubarak, to rise up and to demolish the border at Rafah and let the people go free.
