Ali al Timimi is an American preacher who was jailed for life in 2005 for inciting young men to join the Taliban and fight the US in the aftermath of 9/11.
This will give you a sense of Timimi’s mindset. When the space shuttle Columbia crashed in 2003, killing all aboard, it was a happy day (pdf):
This morning, the world heard news about the crash of the space shuttle. There is no doubt that Muslims were overjoyed because of the adversity that befell their greatest enemy. Upon hearing the news, my heart felt certain good omens that I liked to spread to my brothers.

And so, there are other signs that would take a long time to recount. For example, every time the Americans believe that they control the whole earth and the skies, and act as they wish, there comes a sign that reminds us that God, Almighty, is greater than his creatures, sitting on His Chair, handling everything, and that His angels act according to His commands. And so, he whoever will try to raise the Jews, who are a nation that God covered with humiliation and deserved God’s wrath, will be afflicted with divine humiliation and wrath as much as he supports them.
Saleh al Munajjid is a Saudi preacher. He thinks freedom is very dangerous and brutal corporal punishment in the name of Islam is fantastic.
He is so keen on jihad that he says “neglecting” it is a “major sin”:
If the Muslims neglect jihad for the sake of Allaah, and prefer a life of ease, and focus only on this world, they will face humiliation and scorn, and all their affairs will be corrupted. They expose themselves to the wrath and anger of Allaah, and they expose Islam to loss and defeat at the hands of kufr. Hence neglecting jihad is a major sin.
As for Jews, best kill them, really:
A more decisive approach to ordering the indiscriminate killing of Jews is presented by the learned Saudi cleric Muhammad Saleh al-Munajjid in a fatwa issued in April 2003: “The Jews distorted the religion of Allah…murdered the prophets and denied the existence of Allah; they are intriguers, frauds, and traitors…bringing corruption to Muslim communities…set fire to the Al-Aqsa Mosque…desecrated the Quran…committed massacres; so how is it possible for Muslims not to rejoice at murdering the infidel, thieving Jews? Moreover, Allah will satisfy his believers by destroying and exterminating them all. This is our right as Muslims as was promised by our Prophet….Allah will bring us to defeat and master them according to the Islamic tradition: Fight the Jews and defeat them until the rock says: ‘O Muslim, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him!'”
Salman al Awdah is another Saudi preacher. He was so radical in the 1990s that Osama bin Laden saw him as a hero and hailed him (pdf) as his “ideal personality”. The Saudi government instead saw him as a security threat and locked him up for five years. He has since turned against al Qaeda, but in 2004 he did come out for jihad in Iraq:
A group of Saudi religious scholars have signed an open letter urging Iraqis to support jihad against US-led forces.
“Fighting the occupiers is a duty for all those who are able,” they said in a statement posted on the internet at the weekend. “Resistance is a legitimate right. A Muslim must not inflict harm on any resistance man or inform about them. Instead, they should be supported and protected.”
Mustafa Mashoor is an Egyptian leader of the Muslim Brotherhood. He calls for an Islamic state that will not “neglect” jihad:
Further, we must understand that the Jamaa most worthy of working with is the one that takes Islam in its entirety as an Aqeedah, an Ibadah, manners, a Shareeah, a rule of government, jihad, and every other aspect of life. The Jamaa must not stress one aspect and neglect the other side for any reason. The Jamaa must have the horizontal base across the world to facilitate the establishment of the wide base pivotal to establishing an international Islamic state and not an Islamic state which is limited to a country or a region.
Abdullah Azzam was a prominent jihadi theorist and mentor to Osama bin Laden. He thought Jews ran the world.
Abu Sabayaa is the screen name of Tarek Mehanna. He will go on trial in the US this year for terrorism offences:
Tarek Mehanna, 27, of Sudbury and Ahmad Abousamra, 28, who last lived in Mansfield, were charged in a 10-count indictment with providing and conspiring to provide material support to terrorists, conspiracy to kill in a foreign country, and other charges.

Acting US Attorney Michael K. Loucks also released two undated photos of Mehanna smiling at Ground Zero in New York City with friends, as well as excerpts of conversations he allegedly had online in which he expressed admiration for Al Qaeda, the 19 hijackers who participated in the 9/11 attacks, and Osama bin Laden.“I look to him . . . as being my real father, in a sense,’’ Mehanna allegedly wrote on April 28, 2006.
Mehanna, a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, was arrested Oct. 21 at his parents’ home in Sudbury on federal charges and is being held without bail. Prosecutors say he with Abousamra to join a terrorist camp overseas, to launch an attack on shoppers at a suburban American mall, to assassinate two members of the US government’s executive branch, and to attack US soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Babar Ahmad ran Azzam Publications, a jihadi propaganda operation based in London. He has been indicted in the US for terrorism offences and may be extradited there from the UK later this year. From the indictment (pdf):
AHMAD helped create, operate and maintain, and cause to create, operate and maintain, the websites referred to in paragraph 10 in Connecticut, Nevada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Malaysia and elsewhere, and other internet media which posted materials designed and intended to recruit mujahideen, raise funds for violent jihad, recruit personnel for the Chechen Mujahideen, the Taliban and associated groups, and give instructions for travel to Pakistan and Afghanistan to fight with these groups, provide instructions for the surreptitious transfer of funds to the Taliban, and solicit military items for these groups, including gas masks and night vision goggles.
The websites and other internet media AHMAD helped create, operate and maintain through his expert advice and assistance would be and were used to support and justify violent jihad and his expert advice and assistance were directly and integrally linked to ongoing efforts to provide personnel, currency, military items, monetary instruments, and other material support and resources for acts of terrorism, as well as to conceal and disguise the nature, location, source and ownership of such material support and resources.
Abdullah Hakim Quick is of course the man who has striven to ensure that everyone is absolutely certain that he wants gays dead:
They said “what is the Islamic position [on homosexuality]?” And I told them. Put my name in the paper. The punishment is death. And I’m not going to change this religion.
Isn’t it wonderful that the the youth wing of the IFE recommends that Muslims learn from such lovely people?
