Mohammed Sarwar, the Member of Parliament for Glasgow Central, is standing down at the next election.
His son, Anas, will contest dad’s old seat, where he will face a strong challenge from Muslim Brotherhood activist and Awlaki fan, Osama Saeed.
However, a little bird tells me that No 10 is planning to ennoble Mr Sarwar.
Despite living in Scotland, Mohammed Sarwar has been a trustee of North London Central Mosque, whose other trustees include the fugitive Hamas commander, Mohammed Sawalha. North London Central Mosque recently lost its libel action against Policy Exchange, which had discovered that it was promoting extremist literature.
