Did anyone else see what I just saw? Alan Titchmarsh denying global warming and he and his ignorant guests harranguing and bullying Joan Ruddock for her advocacy of what the world’s pre-eminent climate scientists agree is happening right here right now? Un-feckin-believable!
Ruddock was being told that ‘we’ – that’s the glorified gardener speaking for the nation – don’t need to be lectured on this stuff only for the discussion to demonstrate that there are certain of us who couldn’t be less-informed if we were garden gnomes. They were telling Joan that the government advert which has a father reading a story on global warming to his young daughter and which finishes with the little girl asking, “Does the story have a happy ending?” is tantamount to child abuse.

His audience clapped their uninformed approval
Well, my daughter and I had just retunred from the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge when I heard this garbage. Luckily, she was in the kitchen reading “What Darwin Saw”, newly purchased from the museum shop. ‘Child abuse’ would have been subjecting her to AT’s imbecilic ranting.
It’ll be on ITV Player tomorrow and I’ll post it here.
It’s the little things, isn’t it?
