The BBC get impartiality wrong twice

The BBC should have broadcast the DEC appeal for Gaza.

Most people could not see how a humanitarian appeal could be misunderstood as being impartial.

However, Norman Geras’ blogpost documents how the BBC does give biased news commentary in its headlines on the Israeli-Hamas conflict.

Most people, might think a headline entitled “Israel launches attacks in Gaza” might not reflect the causation for the Israeli attack. The full article does mention the Palestinian “militants”, but only in the way you might mention the weather. Violence from Hamas is seen as something elemental, beyond the control of the agents carrying it out.
