The world’s foremost Islamist clerics and politicians, from the Muslim Brotherhood aligned groups to Jamaat-e-Islami, have written an open letter to Obama.
It is the usual rambling fare from these guys, written in tortured prose. You get everything you’d expect: complaints about the “the pressures of lobbies of Zionism and the secret organizations” – evidently the Freemasons, Rotary Clubs, the Lions – invocations of Allah and the Quran, references to the “memories of the medieval Crusades”, the talking up of Islamic banking practices, and so on.
In fact, it goes on for eight whole A4 pages.
But the best bit of it is this:
We would like to remind you of the point of view reached at by many of the distinguished academic scholars in America and Europe that assures that the events of the 11th of September 2001 were nothing but fabricated drama by some influential forces in Americain coordination with Israeli Mossad. They have done all that in order to find a reason to trigger the third world war that they have already planned for and decided its goals and targeted fields.
They really are prize nutters aren’t they?
And who has signed up to this latest manifestation of Trooferdom? The 36 signatories include:
– “Dr”. Yusuf Al-Qardhawi, of the Muslim Brotherhood; and
– Sheikh Qadhi Hussein Ahmad of Jamaat-e-Islami
– Dr. Ali Sadruddin Al-Bayanoni Comptroller-General of the Muslim Brotherhood; and
– our very own Dr. Rashid Al-Ghannoushi, father of the lovely Soumaya
Bayanoni apparently was allowed into Britain in 2000, after being “asked to leave” Jordan. Can anybody explain why he was allowed to come and settle in this country?
Al Ghannoushi has a history of spreading conspiracy theories about Jews, so we shouldn’t be surprised to see his name on this list.
But there’s one really interesting name on the list: Sh. Abdul Majid Aziz Al-Zindani. Zindani is a truely zany character, who claims to have cured AIDS with herbs. This, of course, is a lie:
Dr. Jamil al-Mughales, the head of the Clinical Immunology Services of King Abdul Aziz University, said that if he were the Minister of Health, he would put al-Zindani in jail. “Me and my friends were totally upset about the way he is dealing with the disease,” he said. “I am one of the people who personally saw the blood test of one of the patients, who was told by al-Zindani to have relations with his wife because he is virus-free, but then when I saw the results, he still had HIV,” he said
But the best thing about al-Zindani is that he’s designated by the United Nations as a person who is a member of, or associated with, Al Qaeda.
The lines between the so-called “soft jihadists” of the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda are rather blurry, don’t you agree?
