Eustonites Anonymous?

“I will never sign the Euston Manifesto but only if 10 other people will also refuse to,” wrote someone named Ian (self-described as “democratic, progressive, and sceptical”) in an online petition last May.

Well, Ian achieved his goal and them some, as at least 23 other people (including some names familiar to HP regulars) joined him in his pledge.

Of course it would be fun to check back every few days and post something snarky about how few people have signed. But, as Richard Nixon might have said, that would be wrong.

However the inevitable question arises: if only nine other people had sworn off Euston, would Ian have given in to the temptation to sign it? Is it something like Alcoholics Anonymous?
