US blocks Israeli arms sale to Venezuela

The US government has blocked an agreement by Israel to upgrade American-made F-16 fighter jets for the Venezuelan military.

According to Israeli media reports, Washington is objecting to Jerusalem carrying out its $100 million contract with Venezuela because of America’s strained relations with the South American nation’s leftist president, Hugo Chavez.

It’s too bad, in a way, because it would have been fun watching Chavez’s “anti-imperialist” supporters explain why their hero was making arms deals with the Zionist regime– you know, the same folks who denounce every other government which buys arms or military technology from Israel.
