On the one hand this is extremely parochial news – former Arsenal reserve full-back Danny Karbassiyoon has signed for Burnley.
But then here are the cosmopolitan details – the Lancashire side’s new left-back is an American, with an Italian mother and an Iranian father and he also is a blogger.
He produced a bit of a gaffe with the post announcing his move to the clarets however:
Burnley is conveniently located near Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Bolton, and Blackburn so despite the boringness that is Burnley, there is plenty to do outside of the town.
Not entirely surprising that he apologised for any offence taken. I do hope that Danny carries on (and is allowed to carry on) with his blog while a Burnley player – footballers always moan about the media and a blog is a perfect way for players to get their own views across without any interference, spinning or distortion.
