President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Muhammad Khatami is flying off to the Pope’s funeral tomorrow.
Khatami called the pope “a religious dignitary, a person who sought coexistence, moderation, dialogue between religions, someone who sought dialogue between Islam and
Christianity”.
Meanwhile back in Iran moderation and dialogue between different religions is in short supply as an Iranian convert to a rival brand of monotheism readies himself for court on charges of apostasy:
