Barbara Plett’s “misjudgment”

After receiving hundreds of complaints, the BBC and Barbara Plett say her confession that she cried at Yasser Arafat’s flight from Ramallah was a “misjudgment.”

This doesn’t deal with the more perplexing question of why an ostensibly intelligent, informed and impartial correspondent was moved to tears by the departure of the likes of Arafat. Or why BBC listeners should expect fair reporting on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict from the likes of Plett.
