According to the Telegraph Alan Millburn wants to outlaw fatty processed foods. Few concrete details of what this would entail are given in the article so I’m hesitant to comment too much at this stage beyond suggesting that the current “obesity crisis” may be caused as much by the fact that children get much less exercise now than they did 20 or so years ago. Children then were just as keen on chips, sausages and cakes but were statistically less large.
I’m not opposed to regulating advertisements for processed foods to children or banning vending machines from schools but I wonder how Millburn proposes to make the humble, but high fat and processed, sausage illegal.
