When I started seeing reports of anti-Semitic violence in France shortly after 9/11, I hoped it was a brief outburst that soon would subside. Now, almost two years later, it seems to have settled in for the long term.
Maybe someone closer to the scene can tell me how the French left is reacting to this. Are they tempering their response because the perpetrators are mostly poor Muslims?
