Back in April I briefly came out of blogging retirement to talk about why ‘expertise’ was important, especially if your mission was to hold “the mainstream media to account”. This followed the much-talked-about spat between Douglas Murray and some smug loudmouth called ‘Comic’ Dave Smith who took umbrage at Murray’s suggestion that he do some due diligent investigation before weighing in on a topic.
This was dismissed by Smith in a rant about ‘experts’ and ‘elitism’, and so on – essentially raging against the idea that one ought to learn a little about a topic before grandstanding on it. You can read my original post here, so I don’t have to rehash it.
So it was with some amusement that, when scrolling through ‘X’, I happening upon a post by Konstantin Kisin pointing to a new post by ‘Comic’ Dave Smith lecturing someone he disagreed with thus:
“So, respectfully, you don’t have a fucking clue what you are talking about here. Go focus on something you know about.”
Hahahaha! Well, finally ‘Comic’ Dave Smith has made me laugh!
What? Oh! It turns out he wasn’t joking. But it is still very funny.
