Remember last May when a video surfaced that appeared to show Toronto Mayor Rob Ford smoking crack cocaine?
Police obtained a copy of the video, and Ford has finally got around to admitting that, yes, he did smoke crack. “Probably in one of my drunken stupors.”
One of his drunken stupors?
Ford, who had previously said he did not use cocaine and who has not been charged with a crime, made Tuesday’s admission to reporters outside his office in Toronto after they asked him about the issue.
“Yes, I’ve made mistakes. All I can do is apologize and move on,” he said. He did not address his future as mayor before leaving the reporters.
As I recall, some of our commenters said Ford, a conservative, was a victim of the leftwing media or the liberal elite, or something like that. Clearly he was a victim, but only of himself. I hope he gets the help he needs.
