Yes, I know the Academy Awards are infinitesimally trivial in the larger scheme of things, but still, I’m sorry “Voices of Iraq” was not nominated for Best Documentary.
(Michael Moore did not submit “Fahrenheit 9/11” in the Best Documentary category; apparently he thought it was Best Picture material. But it wasn’t nominated in that or any other category.)
On the other hand I was pleased to see Catalina Sandino Moreno get a Best Actress nomination for “Maria Full of Grace.” She won’t win, of course, but at least it’s some recognition for a small but wonderful film.
