The gay rights group OutRage! is campaigning to have civil partnerships and civil marriages open to all regardless of sexual orientation. In preparation for a court challenge leaded up by renowned human rights legal expert, Robert Wintemute, a professor at King’s College London.
In preparation for this, eight couples, four gay and four straight, will be applying for the form of relationship recognition they desire but can’t have because of the current segregated legal system.
