This is a cross-post from Marc Goldberg
So according to Varda Epstein’s latest blog it’s time to ask ourselves whether we would have saved the Jewish victims of the Holocaust if we could, then when we realise that we certainly would we should go vote for Mitt Romney.
I am sure that for some people this is entirely logical, alas for me it is as logical as saying if you care about the 6 million dead in the Holocaust you should go and buy a particular brand of smoked salmon.
Varda is by no means the only person running around refusing to let our honoured dead rest in peace. The victims of the Nazis are constantly being pulled from their graves and paraded before the living in order to make a point or emotionally blackmail people and I am sick of it. This latest attempt to use the Holocaust in connection with the US Presidential candidate is no less sickening than any other.
Might I suggest that when deciding who to vote for people take a look at the two presidential candidates and their policies then decide which one appeals to them the most on that basis.
Israel is a strong, powerful nation that rose from the ashes of what remained of our people in Europe, it is a sad day indeed when our futures are determined not by the people of Israel but by the President of the United States. Thankfully that is not our reality. I would say that those Israeli citizens who feel that there will be a nuclear holocaust should Obama serve for another 4 years start packing their bags ready to flee should he win the election. The rest of us will remain here confident in the ability of our leaders and military to protect us.
