…And remember four years ago, when Sarah Silverman urged you to get off your fat Jewish ass and go to Florida to convince your grandparents to vote for Barack Obama?
Well she’s back, taking on the voter suppression (aka “voter ID”) laws– designed to deal with the largely imaginary problem of voter fraud– that Republicans have pushed through in several states. (NSFW either.)
While I think Ms. Silverman is right about the intentions of those who introduced these laws (to discourage large numbers of likely Democratic voters), they may in fact discourage large numbers of Republican-leaning elderly voters as well— which is just as indefensible.
Like the Samuel L. Jackson video below, the Silverman video is produced by a pro-Obama SuperPac called the Jewish Council for Education & Research— where they seem to have a lot more fun than Karl Rove and his gang.
