A Facebook message from Bradford No Means No:
Bradford No Means No are asking you to join us in our campaign against the outrageous and inaccurate comments about rape made by George Galloway of the Respect Party (Bradford West MP). We ask Galloway to apologise publicly and retract his statement. We cannot tolerate an apologist for rape representing the people of Bradford West and beyond. We respectfully ask that this event is not misrepresented as a ‘witch hunt’ against Galloway. We are asking him to work proactively to help educate people accurately about rape law (Sexual Offences Act 2003).
Remember this is not just a demo to counter what Galloway has said. This is also a gathering to show huge support for survivors of sexual assault and provide clarity on rape and sexual assault law. We need to get the message across that when a person has not consented then it means no. No means no!
Bring banners and megaphones and whatever you deem fit. However, please note that this demo will be a form of non-violent, peaceful direct action.
We need your support. Rape can affect anyone.
