Faced with declining support and multiple charges of sexual harassment and a 13-year extramarital affair (all of which he has denied), Herman Cain has “suspended” his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination.
Cain said he’ll endorse another candidate soon. I wonder who will get that honor?
I would guess it will be current front-runner (and child labor advocate) Newt Gingrich, who is so sure he’ll win the nomination that apparently he won’t even bother fighting Mitt Romney for it.
I thought the first rule of political campaigns is always to assume you’re the underdog.
Finally, to add to the aura of comic unreality surrounding the contest for the nomination, birther extraordinaire Donald Trump– who considered running for president himself– will moderate a candidates’ debate December 27 in Iowa.
(We never did learn the reportedly unbelievable things his alleged investigators in Hawaii supposedly found.)
To their credit, “Texas Rep. Ron Paul and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman will both skip the debate, citing concerns about the seriousness of the event.”
