From his review of Tony Blair’s “A Journey” in The Times (via Norm)
Nor do I believe any of that “Blair is a Liar” nonsense in relation to weapons of mass destruction (WMD). As it happens I was one of the 139 Labour MPs who voted against the Iraq enterprise, but I too believed that Saddam Hussein possessed WMD. So did just about everyone I know, whichever side of the argument they were on. Even the UN weapons inspector, Hans Blix, thought it likely. WMD was an intelligence screw-up. Long after the invasions, our intelligence services were still advising the Government that something would turn up. How do I know? Because that’s what they told me, too.
