So Amnesty International is standing by failed jihadi Moazzam Begg.
While Begg’s organisation, Cageprisoners, advertises for the extremists of Hizb-ut-Tahrir, on behalf of Aafia Siddiqui, who has been convicted of attempted murder in a federal trial in open court in the United States.
This is from the Cageprisoners website:
Campaigns : Aafia Siddiqui: ‘The Conviction of Dr Aafia Siddiqui: Sham of US Democracy, Shame of the Zardari Government’
20/02/2010
The Women of Hizb-ut-Tahrir Britain would like to invite you to a demonstration to show your support for Dr Aafia Siddiqui and to raise your voices against the injustices committed against her.
Date: Saturday the 20th of February 2010
Time: 11am
Venue: Outside the Pakistani High Commission
As reported here, Moazzam Begg, Cageprisoners and its patron Yvonne Ridley too are fans of Aafia Siddiqui, like Hizb-ut-Tahrir.
Siddiqui had a few things to say about Jews during her trial:
On questioning during jury selection: “The next question is going to be on anti-Semitism, and all I said was Israel was behind 9/11, and that’s not anti-Semitism!”
On potential jurors: “If they have a Zionist or Israeli background . . . they are all mad at me. I have a feeling everyone here is them [sic] – subject to genetic testing. They should be excluded if you want to be fair.”
On her conviction: “This is a verdict coming from Israel, not America. Your anger should be directed where it belongs. I can testify to this and I have proof.”
Going back to Hizb-ut-Tahrir, here it is, represented by Taji Mustafa at last year’s Al Quds Day Israel hatred march in London:
This ummah needs a ruler who will stand up for Islam. Who will unite us behind Qur’an. Who will follow the words of the prophet and who will send an army. The army of Egypt is not the army of Egypt. The army of Iran is not the army of Iran. The army of Jordan is not the army of Jordan. These are the armies of Islam. These are the armies of the Muslim ummah. These are the armies that have to move. Takbir! Takbir! Takbir!
…
Yes, give your charity, may Allah accept it. Yes, make duaa (prayer) for the Palestinians, may Allah accept it. But you have to call, you have to demand, you have to march, that the Muslim armies, they have to disobey their orders. The Muslim armies in Egypt, Jordan and Syria, they have to disobey their presidents and these puppets of the West. They have to move across the borders. They have to liberate Gaza. They have to liberate Palestine, the whole of the land again. Takbir! Takbir! Takbir!
Cageprisoners has also published a letter from a former Guantanamo inmate celebrating Gita Sahgal being rebuffed by her employer:
Ice Hurdle – A letter from Ahmed Errachidi, former Guantanamo prisoner, Morocco.
15/02/2010Assalam alaikum
It only shows that you are doing a remarkable job by being the voice of “cry justice” you were born “to be one” and your experience in Guantanamo was needed only to make you a reliable and legitimate speaker for human rights, and by dismissing Gita Saghal, Amnesty is proving to the world that human rights should be for all human beings.…and now David Aaronovitch in a desperate attempt, trying to cover up the back fired unfair comment by Gita Saghal….the times on line is refusing to show any comments that are defending you. In a desperate unfair and dis-honest media tactic. There are people out there who don’t like your success and don’t like the fast growing success of Cageprisoners, be sure that it is just an “ice hurdle” that faced every great man in history…
jazzaka allah khair……………
Best regards and respect
Ahmed Errachidi, former Guantanamo prisoner, Morocco.
Cageprisoners – an organisation that continues to promote jihadi extremism and attacks Gita Sahgal.
What a grand partner for “human rights campaigning”.
