The “Boycott Israel” people continue to dog the Israeli-based Jerusalem Quartet, which is scheduled to perform at the BBC-sponsored Proms festival on August 29.
PACBI is calling for leafleting outside the performance venue, Cadogan Hall in London, in the days leading up to the Quartet’s appearance, as well as a demonstration on the day of the concert. The organization also wants boycott supporters to contact Cadogan Hall and the BBC and call for cancellation of the program.
Of course they have a right to leaflet and demonstrate as long as they don’t intend an Edinburgh Festival-style disruption of the performance. Equally, boycott opponents have a right, and a duty, to express themselves as well.
