News from the crucial Plumstead by election. Cheery email from Harriett Harman:
In a by election in Plumstead ward (London Borough of Greenwich) yesterday, Labour held on to a seat with a 12.5% increase in share of the vote and a swing of 5.6% from the Tories.
Congratulating Labour’s candidate, Matthew Marrow, Harriet Harman hailed the victory as “a Labour fightback result”.
There were also positive swings to Labour in by elections in Swale and Stevenage.
Without wishing to take any thing away from Mr Marrow’s election result, this is desperate stuff Harriett.
