If anybody is interested, here is the Financial Report for the period 1 January 2005 to 30 April 2006 of the Stop the War Coalition.
During that period, they managed to spend £174,790. Unfortunately, their income was only £160,602. According to Mr Micawber, the result of of that shortfall of £14,188 is misery.
The Financial Report also indicates that the STWC’s membership – which costs £24 a year (standard) and £12 a year (concessions) – stands at somewhere between 567 and 283 people.
Of course, the STWC are still able to attract people to its events. The sort of people who support causes other than “stopping the war”.
