Lambeth Tories and Liberal Democrats have banned reference to Chrismas lights this year in an effort – presumably – to be “inclusive”.
The preferred terms now are “Winter Lights” or “Celebrity Lights”.
Personally I’m more offended by naming the traditional High Street lights after some D-list soap star than the baby Jesus, but that might just be a minority view…
