First there was the Iraqi Communist Party. Then there was the Worker-Communist Party. Now – according to Workers Liberty – there’s the Leftist Worker Communist Party of Iraq.
Here’s what they say about themselves:
This party is founded by communists who believe that the current leadership of the Worker Communist Party of Iraq – WCPI, had abandoned the revolutionary and socialist tradition of Worker Communism as laid out by its founder, Mansoor Hekmat.
This is the main difference between our party, the Leftist Worker-communist Party of Iraq and the existing Worker Communist Party of Iraq-WCPI. The leadership of the latter had joined the ranks of a rightist tendency in the communist movement represented by the so-called Hekmatist’s Party in Iran which was fractioned from the Worker-communist Party of Iran – WPI.
