I watched the England game against Lichtenstein last night. I couldn’t help noticing that the Danish referee was called Fisker, though I think it means fisherman in Danish rather than it’s Blogland equivalent.
What I would like to know is why do Lichtenstein seem to have exactly the same national anthem as England (and Britain) ? It was bizarre to hear the two national anthems being played at the start of the match, one after the other but with one sung in English and the other, note perfect, but in German.
I know it’s a small country but surely national dignity requires a national anthem that is unique to Lichtenstein ?
