The News of the World has lodged an Appeal against last week’s Tommy Sheridan court win.
A party leader, even of Sheridan’s popularity, who swore on oath that his colleagues on the Executive Committee of the Scottish Socialist Party were all liars and perjurors couldn’t really expect things to be left as they were by anyone with a dog in the race.
I predict the recent verdict will eventually be overturned. The Scottish Socialist Party will begin to implode slowly between now and the Appeal date, then more quickly immediately afterwards – opening a huge hole for Galloway’s Respect Party to fill.
