Where did the ludicrously high figures of deaths caused by sanctions on Iraq, such as “a million dead children” come from?
Matt Welch wrote a piece for Reason magazine in March 2002 entitled The Politics of Dead Children: Have sanctions against Iraq murdered millions? which closely followed how hugely inflated figures came to be accepted without question in so much public discourse on the issue.
