As for the real demo in London – police say there only 10,000 people on the march which is well below the modest target of 100,000 that Stop The War claimed would be on the streets.
On February 15, at the height of the anti-war campaign, one million people were on the streets. So where have the other 990,000 gone?
It would be nice to think they had been won over to the arguments and I am sure some have. Also there will be many who opposed the war who are not prepared to back the reactionary slogan of “End the Occupation”.
But I suspect there are also many who have grown tired of marching to the tune of the Socialist Workers Party, Communist Party of Britain and their religious allies.
