Note especially what she didn’t say. She didn’t mention Donald Trump by name– although there was no doubt whom she was talking about when she said, for example, “The issues we face are not black and white and cannot be boiled down to 140 characters.”
And she resisted what must have been a temptation to mock Melania Trump for plagiarizing her 2008 convention speech.

Steve Schmidt was a top aide to 2008 Republican presidential candidate John McCain.
It’s increasingly clear that the “Bernie or Bust” crowd at the convention, while extremely loud and obnoxious and disruptive, are a very small minority of Sanders supporters, who are being played up by a media eagerly seeking any sign of contention.
Meanwhile Donald Trump was just down I-81 in Roanoke complaining about the air conditioning.
Trump also called Hillary Clinton’s running mate Tim Kaine a “weird little dude.” Now there are several possible adjectives to describe Kaine, not all of them flattering, but “weird” is not one of them.
